1551 was much better than microdrive? Yes, in this form.
If the microdrive would have been done as i imagined, it could be bigger and way faster than the 1551 (6-8x). Would not be so great for demos, but without fastloader could load the next part in seconds. Lot of small files could be a bigger problem too, but if you remember the first Doom, it had one huge file containing all the data.
I think Plus/4 in this form an artificial non-working home office computer, while QL was a better package, except the weirdo colors. Gfx modes and resolutions. And aaah, the "music" of QL.
Digital tapes: approx 5 years ago I had the idea to buy a DCC or DAT. DCC is from Philips and backwards compatible with normal cassette.
It was rather affordable, 60-100 € for a working deck. As i had no space, ampilifier and big loudspeakets i dropped the idea. Check out the prices now. Crazy....
