The VCPU support test is very simple: the computer send to drive the "get information" command ("ZI"), and receive the answer. If the answer's first byte is $33 (ASCII code of "3", the "30, SYNTAX ERROR,00,00" message's first BYTE), no VCPU support. If VCPU support present, the first BYTE from answer is $41 (at this moment). But...
$41 = %01000001
$33 = %00110011
Maybe the first didn't become the second. Based on what I have seen, I would not consider this a computer's receiving error. If the drive receives the "ZI" command incorrectly, that could be the error above, "30, SYNTAX..." message. An interesting experience!
