@Frenetic: I think most SID detection routines check if SID pot values ($19 and $1a) are both $FF.
But while you are at that I'd really like to ask for implementing read for the FM emulation too. (for example using addresses $fde2-$fde4 instead of $fde2/$fdf2/none). Without that we can't detect the FM emulation and we should ask the user if he has it enabled like animals.
