On a slightly related note: apparently, Frank Wolf has created high resolution decap images of both the 8360R2 and 8360R3; https://www.patreon.com/posts/twins-always-42658520 . He and Dieter Müller have already reverse engineered the 8501 CPU (i.e. the specific parts with respect to other HMOS-II 6502 derivatives), http://forum.6502.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6617 Maybe there's some hope that one day they / somebody else finally reverse engineer the TED as well.
