It is interesting to see there is a 128 byte pattern of the defect.
I still think it should be RAM (or the TED, refreshing the RAM).
My idea - though I am not an expert- there could be a line / pin or trace have a defect.
The postion of the color/screen area is from $0800 onwards.
I would doublecheck the sockets or the solderings releated to this RAM chip. Most of the kernal variables stored somewhere there.
