I confirm it is a multicolor bitmap picture (a well made one).

In fact, nowadays more and more graphicians uses again pure HIRES and simple multicolor instead of FLI, NUFLI and others. (not as written there in 1998)
Maybe bigger challange, or less Amiga like pictures, who knows :-)
Even PETSCII started to gain real respect.
