This is what I pointed few months ago. Mad confirmed, that some of the decompressor routines using this feature to make quicker finish of the tasks.
Maybe it would be worth to measure the CPU temperature in this stage by an expert, right?
But Jiffy is a great development on an existing platform. I wish it would exist with 1551 too (though I do not own that drive), what could be the speed with more paralel bits?
(Jiffy with 1541: 200 blocks in 12 seconds, AFAIK using only two wires for data transfer)
