DirPlus is able to copy files between units from the new version onwards.

V3.0 knows this feature, but unfortunately C16 is not fully supported in this, and the copied file need to fit into the memory. V2.99 is the C16 version, but it does not have all the new features. V2.99 may worth a try.
I upgraded my C16 to 64K with MCes's C16 RAM expansion unit (memory under TED, no soldering, no trace cutting on the mobo). More RAM makes life much easier
