MMS 64k are already more than enough for bigger games. 128k or more would've most probably been killing other 8 bit stuff.. But that was not the business plan of Commodore! 
ON:
The problem for this CarTeD demo wasn't the memory. It looked possible with 64k to do this game. More memory may be really more of FPS later on..
