Hey thanks so much for explaining again, very interesting and helpful to understanding the process! I like the word blitting too  I was first familiar with it from coding on the Atari Lynx a little (it was designed by a couple of the Amiga designers). Yes, you have to do things over and over to master something, and you've really done it with this game! It still feels quite magical to me although I now know how you did it
