2) did you try compilers? Some of them provides huge improvement in speed on BAISC programs.
Austrospeed is definitely worth a try
For Plus Comp I made the translation, but never tried out personally. I think (bsed on the documentation).,that Plus comp it better prepared to the special Plus/4 commands (GFX, Sounf), than Austrospeed.
