 VICE C128 emulator

I just remembered from many years ago that the Commodore 128 can load C16/Plus4 basic programes. I tested this many years ago. 1985 I think

I just run VICE C128 and loaded a small "made in basic" prog- and it worked !

I'm not 100% sure what the C128 basic can do, but I know your not going to be loading your fav games on it

C16/Plus4 Sound and Hi Res Grahpic's stuff work and other basic things. Have a Play as I'm sure you feel at home with this little moster

You can get VICE from Lim Lemon's C64 site.
http://c64.emucamp.com

Let me know how you get on,

Remember http://www.plus4.org/
Mike Dalliy has the Plus4 3.5 basic Manual online if you've forgotten those Basic commands !

Dont for get to email the coder of Vice and ask for C16/Plus4 support

 Yeah I've had a play...

As GeTE says, the colours are a little bit screwed up as the codes are different between C128/+4 but hey, they work!

Also, looking through the online Basic 7 guide I see that the C128 does have commands for sprites etc...

 heh...

I know it's just a bit of fun- I just thought that the C128 would probably have BASIC functions for sprite / SID features that the Plus 4 didn't have.

I didn't own a C128, but they weren't that rare- I knew a couple of people who owned them.

All the same, I'd like to play around with a real one but I suppose Vice will do for now!

Does the C128's Basic 7 give you all of the features

No. I'm working a d64 image to upload tonight "I hope" that will have many Basic games on it. This way you can see for you self.

It's 50% the same as a +4 with the Basic language. I don't know about C128 machine at all.

C16/Plus4 sound works, but the sound register value starts at 0 and above 9000 form what I just played with.

eg:(On C128 note G)
10 VOL8
20 SOUND1,5000,50

eg:(on C16/Plus4 note G)
10 VOL8
20 SOUND1,643,50

Both make the same sound and note on each machine.

I did'nt find the NOISE channel. Wish I had a manual for C128.

A Plus4 doesn't have sprites or sid (sid optional)
Some memeory stuff will not work with GFX in Basic.

The games that do work are basic using charaters from the keyborad.

At the end of the day. It's only abit of fun and nice to know what else commodore machine's can do

 The real question is...

Does the C128's Basic 7 give you all of the features of the C16/Plus 4 basic AND sprite/sound features suitable for the more C64-like hardware?

Oh, and has anybody got a real C128 that they don't want?
