About referring to the authors by real name vs. handle: which page are you talking about? On the software details pages both is present, in fact it's like that almost everywhere. Why should we not display the real name if it's knows? Displaying both is better.
I've updated the Member Listing page: Name and Handle are now sepatared, you can sort by Handle if you like.
Also you talk about searching: if you want to search for somebody, do just that, use the search function. It will find by either first name, last name or handle.
