Re: What eight bit software houses still exist?

I'm afraid to say that we will see no C16/Plus4 games from any current professional software houses anymore on the retail shelves, not even as mail order or downloads

It's because we are very much a smaller niche market now, and companies such as Psytronik cater for that so their profit turn-outs won't be as high, but thankfully enough to keep them going, it's more a labour of love. It's just not worth it for the bigger more commerical software publishers which now cater for modern machines.

Psytronik, other smaller retro game publishers like them plus the homebrew scene is really as good as it gets for us now, where unfortunately our 264 series scene is so much more smaller now (and it was small back in the 80's compared to the bigger systems then) that Psytronik has only one commerical release with Adventures In Time so far. But all this isn't really a terrible thing. The C16/Plus4 gaming scene is still very much alive. There's probably more than double the games now for our system than there were in 1988, and I don't see that waning anytime soon happy

edit:
vvvvvvvvvv lol, think we found our troll vvvvvvvvvv (although he's only half using CAPS instead of the whole post this time)
