Go to the Home Computer Event or Netherlands Commodore Show. The HCE is May 17 and the NCS is June 21. More information is at

http://commodore.hcc.nl/events

Perhaps you can trade or buy there,

Hi ODO happy

I have a spare c16 UK version but only one plus/4, sorry!

I guess you are after a boxed complete european (german) Plus 4 ?

I am surprised you want to give up an a1200? I didnt know that the grey/black plus4's can yellow !

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

Yes even C16's turn a different colour.
On a C16 your see the keys go brown and the case goes almost jet black or rather an oil looking nasty black-ish colour.
Plus/4 keys can go yellow and this is very common with Amiga's too as the keys are white. The +4 case like the C16 can go oil looking black as well but they tend to hold the colour better than C16's do when the have turned... It's the fire resistant chemicals in the plastic that causes it, UV light from the sun does not help at all and makes the process of turning yellow happen much faster.

When not using your machine/s keep a cover over them and out of the sun light! happy

Odo,

If you lived in the UK and (if) I was more up for it as in health wise I would of... sorry man!

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

If You have soldering skills and access to an eprom burner, I would suggest looking at getting one from the USA.
I have bought 3, one I converted from NTSC to Pal.

One sold here in Australia on ebay for $150 + postage, mine were all cheaper than that and not yellowed.

You take the same risk wherever You get them from as far as them working 100% is concerned.
You would need a Euro power supply or a 240(220)-110 converter for a USA model

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

Yes it look great Odo !

I recently purchased a c16 logo from ebay UK, all for under $10AUD including postage.
They do appear every now & again. You gotta ask yourself whether you want it permanently imprinted so as to use super-glue or just blu-tack to see how it holds on.

I just used a thin layer of blu-tac & it has not budged or bubbled up happy

Oh & i do not leave any vintage computers sitting next to windows to gather sunlight or dust !

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

Very nice odo.

If it's for spares then I would not worry about the case or logo, unless your current one is bad?

If your current case is cool then, if ever the motherboard dies you put the new motherboard inside that good case and keyboard. Recycle with what you have and your always have a perfect looking machine every time. Spares can be in any shape or forum, as long as the motherboard is working your good for many years. Dead machines can have working chips too so useful for spares as well. happy

The badges can be stuck down with a very small amount of super glue. My C16 badge started to lift one end, I used a tooth pick to lift it a little and another tooth pick using it like a brush to put the glue on the underside of the badge only. Small and thin amount, enough to be tacky so when you push down it does not spread out of the sides. wink

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

Good to hear you guys come to an arrangement happy

By the look of the photo above, it appears MIK is also short of a c16 logo.

I guess here is a good opportunity if you want to chase one up !

Re: wanted plus4 in the netherlands

That so called C16 needs no logo. It's a tempory home/case that saves a working mother board from being damaged.

That's why I said above, "Recycle with what you have and your always have a perfect looking machine every time". You just need the one perfect machine. wink
