 Re: Z80 GUI: SymbOS

yeah, initially i learned from a book 6502 assembly at secondary school (hard work...), later at the university we had to program in i8080 assembler. As i remember, z80 has a slightly improved 8080 code. It was not so straightfordard as C=, sometimes 3 commands instead of 2. But i did not hate it so much. happy
yeah, with 128 they wanted to address serious customers too, CP/M needed z80. Who could know that DOS will kick the ass of Cp/m, that ruled business world? If Cp/m would have been chosen by IBM, then C=128 would have been an IBM PC compatible machine, weird, no?
From GUI point of view the VDC in 128 is better, higher resolution better fits for this task. 160x200 is useless for GUI.
Worst part is that unfortunately the 1bit/pixel color depth of HIRES does not allow such nice screens as seen on CPC.
SuperCPU is a nice project, but the price...
