This thread has already sprawled in several different directions, so I apologize for further taking it off topic, but I'd like to respond to this from Hans:

As for frequency, that's probably normal, I don't think it's a very active topic. As for the other part: agreed, but not for lack of trying... Luca and I are the two biggest contributors to the site and its content, and we're just not hardware gurus. Me especially: I'm a programmer, I don't know the first thing about anything hardware related. The hardware section is waiting for someone to give it some love. If you have time, ideas and willpower to work on it, let us know.
