|  What did a Plus/4 cost when it was on regular sale?
Back in 1988, I obtained my first Plus/4 from the local discount supermarket "ALDI" here in Germany. (In the UK, Aldi can be compared to Tesco's).
Selling price by that time, including a 1531 datasette, the Basic trainig cassette, and the usual books, was DEM 229, equalling to now some € 115.
How many did you have to pay for your first Plus/4?

i pay in 1992 50 DM (25 €uro) for my first /4 with 70 original tapes from a good frend.
my pearents pay in 1985 150 DM for my first c16 with 1531 at ALDI.

Daß Aldi schon im Jahre 1985 Commodores vertickt hat, wußte ich gar nicht. Von C16 über Aldi war mir auch nix bekannt. Ich bin zuerst über den Plus/4 bei Aldi gestolpert, wie vorher gesagt, für 229 Mark.
Hast Du damals auch den "Ramschverkauf" von Plus/4 mit NTSC-Board bei Völkner (Braunschweig) mitbekommen? Das war 1989 oder 1990; wenn ich mich recht erinnere, kostete ein Plus/4 mit NTSC irgendwas bei 50 Mark. Zeitgleich verkaufte Völkner auch Plus/4-Netzteile für einen Zehner (oder in der Preislage), allerdings mit dem Rundstecker.

At the time the C16 Starter pack was, I think it was £139.99. I think the keyboard had something to do with the higher price for less in the box.

In the UK the C16 had it's own TV commercial and was aired many, many times. It had two professors in white coats, that's about all I can remember and would love to see it again!

Gentlemen,
As Plus/4 users, we surely keep precious hardware (as long as we've got it...). Yesterday, a 1551 went over the virtual Ebay counter for € 124. Not bad, eh?
