In fact the SFD-1001 requires 96tpi disks but not the HD ones. Although most DSDD disks with 48 TPI will work as 96TPI in those drives. The HD disks has a different magnetic coating which is (mostly) not compatible with Commodore drives. Sometimes you can use HD disks in a 1541 but most probably it won't work. The only source I know for 5,25 96TPI DSDD disks is www.athana.com
