 Is this possible?

I transfer D64 and D81 images to my Commodore 1581 drive using my PC. This works great - i make a 3.5" disk for the C64 then copy the contents on the C64 across to a 1541-II. Will this same method work for the Plus/4 disks?

 Yes it will

The C64, 1581, and 1541 do not care what the information is or what Commodore computer it's for. As long as you don't try to RUN any Plus/4 software on the 64, then you'll be just fine.

 it worked!

ok, i used 64 copy to transfer files on plus4 .D64 disk images to .D81 disk images. Then i wrote the .D81 disk images to disk using the PC, all worls fine in the plus 4 happy

I'm happy...now all i want is a proper black plus 4 drive (1551?)

 Good luck

finding a working 1551. As I've written in here previously, the one I received several months ago from Germany (I'm in the US) doesn't want to talk to the Plus/4.

Here, all Commodore software is copy-protected to the 1541 ROMs. Some 1571's even choke on 64 and Plus/4 software.
