I've just checked the three download links for Savage Island: they all worked for me (I downloaded them again). Here's a direct download link, maybe this will work for you? There PRG version is without pictures, the TAP version is with pictures.
They are all ZIP files, so you have to unzip them (you knew that I guess). What error message did you actually receive when you tried to download?
