 TED chip seller in Hungary

Hi,

I remember a thread a while back that had a link to a seller of TED chips in Hungary.

My Plus/4 needs a TED, and I'd rather not cannibalise my C16.

Can anyone else remember this post or seller?

Thanks.

I do know about one (HQVideo ; http://www.hqelektronik.hu/info/en/8360.html); small problem, however, that they're IMHO prohibitely expensive... maybe not this source that you heard about.

Thanks TLC, that was the site. Much appreciated.

I'm happy to pay AU$40 for one, considering their rarity.

It just so happens I'll be in Budapest in a few days, so I'll pay them a visit.

Cheers!

ehm, maybe it is cheaper to buy an other Plus/4 from Vatera or ebay, and may swap the the boards, if outer plastic or buttons are not nice.
You can find a lot with defective PSU or without PSU ("untested condisiton"), but in Germany alot of OK ones too (in Hungary bids are usually a little higher, and average condition is worse)

I even found an interesting GEM there, a Plus/4 with JiffyDOS. Strange, I though only possible with NTSC machines (no PSU, and expensive):

some 1Euro ones (OK, 4 more days to go...)

MMS: it's true that buying another plus/4 instead of a broken one is cheaper but this way the number of working computers is decreasing very quickly.

Yes, I know, but actually the number of working and available +4 computers is ~100x more than the number of active and working Plus/4 fans!

So there is a big lake with a lot of fish and there are only very few fishermen.
OK, there are some dead fish there, but you can identify those ones based on look and smell grin

Well, I paid HQ a visit, and they didnt have a clue... mind you language probably was the main barrier. So I didnt end up purchasing a TED chip. If I had had more time that day, (I was leaving Budapest) I maybe would have had more luck.

Looking at their store though, I wouldnt be surprised if TED's are buried in there somewhere. It's a big store, with a lot of staff.

I'll try via their webpage.
