Thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it. It's not an intro for a game - just a standalone little piece for fun. That's all I could manage with my busy life for now, but at least the gauntlet is down: I'm expecting to see releases from all o' y'all!
The shape of fire effect is a side-effect... Well, obviously intentional here, but that's just how the effect works, if it's not full screen (does not wrap around). The idea is to replace every value with ( current value + value below right + value below + value below left ) / 4. So, if the sides are "empty", as in zero characters, this is what will happen on the edges, the values will be less than the ones in the middle.
Besides VICE having a little bug, for some odd reason indi's Java emulator is having problems with it as well (that's why I haven't added a Play Online link). Strange, I don't think there's anything too funky in there.
