So, how does it look on your real machine ? I have already seen the images in emulators  Or did you mean comparing the real machine to emulators, and found "YAPE digitized" to be most similar ? If that is the case, then I will probably change the palette, since my real machine is also closer to the "digitized" than to the "calculated" palette (see table above).
By the way, colortest_1.prg was generated with the "calculated" palette, and should look as expected (i.e. a smooth linear gradient) with the default plus4emu - use software mode or the highest quality, otherwise the color depth is reduced to 16 bits - or YAPE palette. For colortest_2.prg, I modified the table as follows:
