I am somewhat confused. The Pepto page basically says that:

sqrt(U * U + V * V) = constant

and

R = Y + 1,140 * V
G = Y - 0,396 * U - 0,581 * V
B = Y + 2,029 * U

This is really the same as what I am using (the formula in my 2007-09-02 post is equivalent to the above one with minor rounding differences), and is also in VICE, although VICE seems to do some small amount of gamma compressing by default, and uses different hue values. On the other hand, YAPE 0.76 is different, as I described earlier, at least with the BMP format screenshot I checked.
