Hi,
first of all you could try to unlock the head, by command "I".
Syntax is:
OPEN 15,8,15,"I0" (string is I and a zero) [Return]
After a while, when (and if) the red light turns off:
? DS$
you should obtain "0,OK,0,0"
then retry to read the disk and keep us informed
