Chicken: I think I can implement more accurate emulation of vertical synchronization in the next (1.1.1) release. However, I am not sure about the range of line counts that should still result in a stable display; with my TV card using composite video, I can make it shorter by up to 22 lines, and longer by up to 30 lines, and with no vertical sync at all, it free runs at 312.5 lines, but this probably varies depending on the type of TV/monitor/card being used.
Also, I will probably use very low (<= ~280) line counts for detecting NTSC mode.
