The sub-D connector goes on the 128 or Amiga, the round end on a 1902 or similar monitor that uses the round monitor connector.
Some 1902s use a sub-D connector, in which case you can use a Atari-type joystick extension cable, or a 9-pin IBM serial cable extension, in place of a monitor cable.
The 128 and the Amiga output different 80 column signals, so you'll have to flip the digital/analog switch on the monitor to see which gives you a picture.
