 1581 disk problems

Hi all,

I would appreciate your advice on something. I have converted all my old 1581 disks to *.d81 format and they work perfectly in Yape. The problem is that most of these D81 disks have D64's within them. On Yape I have tried setting drive 8 as 1581, Drive 9 as 1551 IEC drive on one of my folders within my hdd. Tried so many different copying programs, or even the command "Copy D0 to D1" on Yape but none seem to want to extract these D64 files from the D81 images. But still can't copy the D64 files out of the D81.

Here's a link to one of the D81's so you can see what I mean.

I've also had a look at Star Commander but can't seem to get the commands right for extracting the files.

Has anyone got any suggestions, as I would love to see whats on all these disks.

Chris happy

 Re: 1581 disk problems

It's quite easy to do on Star Commander.

Highlight the .d81 file, then press Enter and it'll show you the contents. Highlight the D64 file, then press F5 to copy it as a seperate file. happy

By the way, using the COPY command in Yape won't get anywhere, as it needs a dual disk drive (which is two drives using the same device number) happy
