As long as I understood: there is no time for masking, so the sprites must not cover any background except plain black. So restoring it wouldn't be as much of a problem, IMO.

/me wonders: how Mike wants to solve collision check if there is no time for masking...

Maybe it is really too late for changing the scroll and the sprite engines, so go guys, go! happy

(Csabo: I believe that DNF is done when I already played 'til the end. Not any time before that... wink)
