 converting to d64 files

Hi from an old C-64 fan . . .

I'm using Vice C64 emulator.

I'm looking for a PC text editor that will export to d64 files.

Can anyone help ??

Thanks

 Re: converting to d64 files

Hi

You must have :
1 a DOS PC with Starcommander
2 a X , XE or XM Cable
3 a real 1541 Floppy Disk

so now you can conect the 1541 with the DOS PC and make with the Starcommander .prg and .D64 Files.

But we are hiere on a Site for Commodore 264er Series (C16 , C116 & Plus/4)

 Re: converting to d64 files

I think C16 Chris thought you wanted to convert 1541 disks to .d64 format.

I think you want to type on your PC (Windows or Mac or Linux) then put the resulting file onto a .d64 for 64 emulator use.

To answer THAT question...... it's not easy. Star Commander could probably put the file on a .d64, but the charactersets are not exactly compatible between the Commodore and the modern operating systems. You'll need to do some conversion either before it goes onto the .d64 or after you load it in your emulator.

Please explain your desire more fully, so that we can point you in the right direction.
