Re: Let's Play Csabo: Overseas? Now I know that the ditching with the subtitles are worth the efforts. Manners? I have no manners at all! Chronos: Nagyon. Kb. mint végigcsinálni a Saboteur-t nehezebb fokozaton. Kétszer.
Re: Let's Play Both of you guys did awesome videos
Verona, you even have overseas viewers! I laughed all the way through, your mannerisms are really funny. Also, you actually did make it through a "3" door; once you pick up the key, the door itself disappears. In your last round, you picked up the key and went through the area where the 3 door was... So, well done!
Re: Let's Play Hello Sausage Rings! It's time to our final let's play round in the year of 2020! ..Enigma! Join us by playing and submitting your high score to the Hall Of Fame! Thanks in advance guys!
Re: Let's Play Kedves Chronos! Simán elölről kezdődik a játék.
Re: Let's Play Dear Chronos! I learned from your current Leaper video that Jumping Jack exists. What? It was the very first computer game I ever encountered and played on my godfather’s Spectrum as a child. I've been trying to find out what it might have been for about 35 years ... Thanks. After such a start, Leaper on Plussy was one of my favorites, I played with it quite a bit. Many sausage rings were consumed by the time I managed to light up all the entire Leaper letters. I remember there was big disappointment, no reward, no fanfare or fireworks. The game simply starts over from the beginning. One more thing to add to the video is that the game always adds new holes at random locations when you jump up one level. Anyway, thanks for putting so much energy into these videos!
Re: Let's Play check it out! Extra long video for Hungarians, with a lot of background info:

HEYHEY! It's another weekend coming again, so time to another let's play! This time we play BMX Simulator! Join us by playing and submitting your high score to the Hall Of Fame!
Re: Let's Play @Luca: I've tried to reproduce this bug but I couldn't. How exactly did you do this. I was beta testing this game (a little bit, that's how we found out that the original conversion does not work with JiffyDOS) but none of us found anything similar. You made me really curious. BTW I think this is a bit offtopic here it should have been in the game's own thread.
Re: Let's Play I've joined the competition on the new game, I won't enter this score though
Arguably this one comes due to a rarely occurring bug, probably occurring in some situations about going out of time, and in my opinion is a bug of the game's original code...
It's probably the same flawless that rarely breaks the game, just like in this situation, when the player must choose how to place a tile.
Re: Let's Play We have a new release today, so let's play Domino Deluxe this weekend. Don't be afraid to submit your score to the Hall of Fame. Just show your support that you still play on our beloved machines.
Re: Let's Play Actually very few things are missing to be a really great game, but I think most of them related to the 16KB limitation.
-Some moving background to have the real feeling of flying (some tile graphics, maybe only some clouds), -Animated main plane like in 1942, when moving left/rigth (just 2 more phases), -Instead of those crazy ellipses some real blowing of enemies -More balanced scoring small planes vs bosses -Sometimes the boss send out and ammo of the sequence, directly hitting me. This is unfair! -Maybe a starting music witha PETSCII gfx
Re: Let's Play Ok I opened the dance spending half a hour. Btw, I didn't remember it was so damn buggy: some chars sustain continuous damaging due to wrong memory calls, and the gameplay's events change due bad coding (sometimes planes autodestruct, sometimes fortresses at 2nd level don't shoot...flawlesses everywhere). Plus, the real deal for score is the flying fortress only, due to the assigned scores' high difference and the lack of an end level's bonus.
Re: Let's Play Chronos: heh yes unfortunately, and that's not the only one to be an unrealistic score with no references... In the early days of the Hall OF Fame we debated about what to do in those cases, and the line was generally based by trust faith and sincerity.
Re: Let's Play Luca: Yes, practically there is 2 options: leave the game options as-is, it means 3 lives or "boost" to 4 lives i hope, everyone who submit his hi score will provide info about his setting Just 4 my 2 cents: Litwr's hi score looks unrealistic because almost all the players dies on level 6..
tRe: Let's Play Probably for this game it should have been assigned a ships' amount for the tournament...or maybe, the idea actually was to leave the decision to the competitors?
All right, here's my attempt to rally the troops a little: Rüdiger, George, MMS, etc. etc - all the other guys who hang around the forum; you know who you are All you need is literally 10-15 minutes. Sit down a bit, play a few rounds, submit your score. Show your support!
Re: Let's Play Nice video Chronos! Nice turnout this week. I played too, several rounds both today and yesterday but couldn't beat my previous high score.
The best trick I found is, in the beginning of each level, position your ship so that you're shooting at the 2nd last digit of your score. While in that place, you'll be able to shoot several of the ships entering and you're guaranteed not to get shot by them.
Re: Let's Play Hello guys! It's weekend again. Let's play Galaxions this time. If you are not comfortable with keyboard controls you can play the joystick only version version but submit your high scores to the original game please. Game up!
Re: Let's Play very cute game. In it's simplicity it had the same level of long term "cuteness" as PSSST! on ZX Spectrum (both have very cute started screen too)
Re: Let's Play Great videos, the ones I upload will be far more basic and no production values!
Pancho - wow those keyboard controls took some getting used to. Having to hit 2 keys simultenously for every jump is a challenge. Under pressure half the battle is not jumping off the screen.
Re: Let's Play To Verona and Chronos, I just wanted to say that we enjoyed watching your videos immensely Thank you for making them.
Honestly, I could not understand the appeal of watching steams of YouTube plays. Why watch someone else have fun, when I can have fun myself? I guess now I get it - but this is a very personal experience for me. I *do* play the games myself and I know you guys
Re: Let's Play Ah, yeah, sorry about the confusion. I was so ecstatic about my high score that I took two screenshots, both the game over screen and the vanity board, and stitched them together in an image editor.
Otherwise each entry still only has one value for an image URL, so no special treatment for anyone
Congrats on 37K! o_O I don't think us mortals can get that far
Re: Let's Play @AaronGale: That is actually one single picture. Csabo merged two pictures by copying one under the other. You can do that yourself without being admin.
Re: Let's Play Thanks guys, it was fun to play again. I tried in a few browsers but couldn't get sound working properly so downloaded Yape in the end.
What I meant with the 2 images is on the high score table if I click the photo next to your high score Csabo you have 2 images, I only could get one uploaded and showing. Is 2 possible without Admin access for us mortals to get 2?
Re: Let's Play AaronGale what a score! Congratulations! I was already undeservedly lucky once, and I don't think such a miracle happens again, I'm not skilled that much...
Re: Let's Play It's been so long since I played this game I had to have a go. Took plenty of attempts to remember how to pick up those top row items without getting myself stuck.
Hall of fame question, I uploaded the final screenshot and then the final high score table but one seems to overwrite the other. Can I get both to show?
Re: Let's Play Oooh, had to jump back to this classic in order to defend my position, and I've been lucky enough to face a fortunate play, usually my games end at 10 or 11.
Re: Let's Play Thanks for the kind words unclouded. I'd love to take credit for the idea, but sadly I can't. It was an unashamed rip off of O'Riley's Mine, from the Atari. We did a lot of that sort of thing back in the day. Noone really protected their IP in those days, and if you saw a decent game on another format there was always a rush to copy it for another format. If you didn't do it, someone else would. Some of the attempts were pathetic to be honest, but I like to think that I did the games justice when I did mine. Pete was actually quiet challenging in its own way. The flood algorithm took some thinking about, and I was determined to try to overcome the C16's lack of sprites too.
Re: Let's Play There you go Doug, I made you feel better. My score was 3,105. I've heard people talk about this game but didn't realise how cool it is. Congrats on a really clever idea.
Re: Let's Play Fantastic pick! I haven't really played much with this back in the day, but it's a great game. A score of 6###-ish is decent, I would say. I'll be interested in seeing if someone can reach Luca's or Plus4Punk's score (13K / 11K).
Re: Let's Play Hello guys! It's weekend again, so let's play. The selected game is Prospector Pete. Join us by playing and submitting your high score to the Hall Of Fame.
Re: Let's Play Yes! When you click Submit, you can see the guidelines (come to think of it, that's not the best place :-/) Anyway, here it is also:
The hall of fame obviously only makes sense if the player submitting their scores are honest. Cheating would be just lame, and we know no-one wants to do that. Here are the guidelines on how/what should be submitted:
- Use original version of games. (Exception: if the original game has a bug, a bugfix can be applied.) - Real computers are preferred, but emulators are also allowed. - Emulators: don't speed up/slow down the game or use snapshots, those are considered cheating.
Let's Play Welcome to the official Let's Play thread!
All you need is 10-15 minutes to set aside, and take trip down memory lane. Load up an old classic and play a while. Submit your score, no matter what.
