| Xargon Wars
Hi!
I use Vice Emulator and can play most of the games without any problems except my favourite game Xargon Wars. The start page is perfect, but there is a graphic error when I start the game. The picture is totally distorted, I see only bright squares, but the game is running nevertheless (sorry, I'm not an expert). Should I change anything in the settings of Vice? Could anyone help me? Many thanks.

It seems that the TAP file is not working 100% correct - in VICE you got the graphics error - in yape all enemies except one disappear - download the first prg file and use yape instead of VICE - have fun.

Thank you Plus4Vampyre, Yape is OK! I found it at first too slow, but it runs at a speed of 100% by chosing full screen.

Could someone recover a bug-free version of this game? I clearly remember that mine did not have the bug in the ones in our archives... time to warm up those transfer cables perhaps? Not for me though...

Seems like the PRGs are fine, and so is the TAP image from C16.DE. Right?

I checked the disk archives, found 3 different PRG versions, but they all seem to have that artifact. Well, even if transfer is a problem, I know a few folks could easily check though. Rüdiger, Chris, Anyone, little help?

that's too bad. WhenI was young, erghm 25 years ago, then it was my fav. shoot em up. Back to the time I think it was rather well done. Is there anything similar ut better donre on +4? It is up to C64 standards in this style of games?

Let's stay on-topic In case no bug-free version is recovered, we could perhaps "remake" it... you know what I mean.

Keeping slightly on-topic of bugged rom files.
Well, I wouldn't call it a bug in the game so much, likely more an emulator issue.
The music on Tom Thumb using Yape distorts when you try to record it on AVI video.
I've been wanting to attempt a longplay of it with it's atmospheric music, but the distortion in the music whilst recording prevents me from doing so. I admit I haven't tried all the video options though.
Any ideas?

Uh, this means we have Xargon's Revenge's .tap file from Omnibus II, 'coz when I added the ending, I had to also add a little box note about the game's bugs.

The Xargon Revenge version from Omnibus II has a bug, same as all Omnibus I tapes contains a buggy version from Xargon Wars. I've tested many original tapes from both collections.
