| Alpha Man and Docster's Digger!
Excellent news for the Plus/4 scene: we're welcoming not one, but two new games!
Eagle-eyed sceners may have already noticed that Kwayne, who released several BASIC PETSCII games for both C=64 and Plus/4 has released Alpha Man... but only for the C=64. "Where is the Plus/4 version?" you may have wondered; wonder no more - it's been submitted to the Game Development Compo! The game is a difficult sokoban-like puzzle: push each letter to its destination location. There's a single green block that you can freely maneuver around to help you accomplish this task.
The second brand-new game is Docster's Digger. After the recent awesome trailer; the game is already here! TRP has done a great job porting this 2019 Megastyle game to our beloved Plus/4. In the game, you must prevent the evil genie Khezam's plans: he flies across on his flying carpet bombing holes in the ground, and you must fill the holes to prevent the zombies from making it to the ground.
Be sure to give both of these games a shot!

Congrats to both! Oh, this means that the GameDev compo allows converted games too, right?
Docster's Digger has been released on C64 as bonus game with the official release of Mancave, hence its category falls into the field of "casual games"; nonetheless, TRP has done a wonderful job around it all! Alpha Man looks tough at first glance (and test), have to going further into it...

Hello Luca! I hope so By the way, Docster's Digger is not a simple converted game. I rewrote the entire code, fixed many bugs and made further improvements, I redrawn all the characters. (the c64 version used hires and multicolor sprites at the same time and place) This is a "TCFS-like release" (if the Master will forgiven this analogy...)

Well done (both games!), you can tell that great care has been taken to ensure everything is nice and smooth.
Although this is not a rule written in stone, but this is why we say "ported" and not "converted". Ported means something like "created a version of another game (sometimes by using resources)". Converted would be more like "adjusted an original game just enough to make it run". There's a lot in between though; one could say that all my logic games (1010!, 2048, Candy Dots, Digits, Stack 123, etc.) are "ports" since the core game idea is borrowed (even though those are all written from scratch). My adventure conversions (Temple of Terror) usually have massive code optimizations and bugfixes, not to mention added docs and other extras... Are those "simple conversions"? And then there's stuff like Stop The Express... But I digress.
On another (off-topic) note, does anyone remember "AlphaMan" (no space in the name)? It's another DOS game from 1995, a roguelike. I remember playing it, super fun.
Congrats again to both of you guys for shipping completed games We're all happy to see them!

@Lavina: Ain't that cute? But it's wrong! You should have transcribed it into phonetic symbols and added an audio clip of the pronunciation.

It wouldn't be a bad game, but the protagonist is annoyingly slow. And the genie can suck it, he's throwing his garbage at my head. Too bad, because it could be a good game, I like the idea.
