I added this to the hardware page here. Please edit it guys
One question: Robert Crock on the list, is that crock?
Edit: I see that it's him. The name's oddly formatted though :-)

My bad sorry! It was a list that I made just for myself where I initially noted just the nicknames and extended (incompletely) for the forum post.
EDIT: just found another two
AA4 000116 - Richard Lagendijk's website AA5 000108 - Ebay auction in 2014
Interesting though, that the Ebay one's serial is differing just by one from Rob's machine but the factory code is AA5 not AA4. I always believed that the number beneath the letters is the production year (so 198x) but this kind of contradicts that theory?

@Gaia - Richard's is an AA5. Here's a direct link to his serial number photo: http://www.richardlagendijk.nl/foto/cip/computer_232_04.jpg
We should probably verify against a photo for AA4 000154. All the others, except Crock's, are AA5. This makes me wonder if there are TWO batches of these: an AA4 prototype batch, and an AA5 production batch.

I am the "German guy" and I am from Vienna/AUSTRIA not Germany.
My Name is Stefan Egger and you can see the full description of C232 here: http://scacom.bplaced.net/Collection/232/232en.php
Sadly, TED and CPU Chips are broken but does work when you put in new Chips. I get a ceramic TED soon and maybe someone has a 7501 0184 CPU or I use a 8501 which is more stable. The PLA was also exchanged at some Point, it should be ceramic too but not sure I can source that.
It seems it was used a lot - the pre owner made a C232 cable to a C128 PSU etc. But otherwise is in perfect condition and restored to work soon as original as possible for me.
The BOOK Thing: It is ready and the best we could offer but other guys made the Project bad and we stopped it. Also it is ready we did not meet the crowdfunding Goal and all work on it ended. It would have been great, revealing lots of secrets and having lots of exclusive Pictures in it etc. but should not be.
Thanks and if you have any questions just ask. Of if you have any of the Chips listed.

Hi Stefan,
you have a very good and interesting site. Congrats from me. I think one of the best looking Compzters was the plus/4. But i also like the Amiga CDTV with black monitor.

Hello
Thank you, you can also see this page in German (click on German flag on top of the page). Not all pages have a Translation to English but some.
Oh I like also my cdtv CR: http://scacom.bplaced.net/Collection/cdtvcr/DSCN9717.JPG
But I still miss the CDTV monitor, CD32 Monitor, CD32 Keyboard - but I have the only CD32 mouse. Still missing is the V364 in my collection to come pack to the Plus4 root here. Will try to get one - one day

LOL Stefan.. The V364 LOL good one
I think they made only 3 with case. One in production plastic and two with minor quality case. I have the idea to make a reproduction Case with a 3D printer..Maybe with your skills in 3D this dream could be true one day. put some parts from a Plus/4 and a magic voice emulator...Voila the 364+!!!
Yes you definatly need the black monitor for the CDTV. :) I want a CDTV with full setup too...maybe one day.
I did some research and made my black dream setup for the plus/4. Look here at my blog.Took a year to find the parts: My color-coded setup

haha, yes, V364... joke. I was not joyking Sure I Need the one with the complete case. It has to be somewhere.
I had a V364 case Project believe it or not. But I did not order the parts needed to complete it. Some are already designed like the number keypad (original V364 layout) and the Special function keys etc. I did not let it print either because of cost or maybe the fear to fail - or both. The first parts never fit 100% as you always have some mistake somewhere.
Your Setup is very beautiful! Just missing a 1531. I even have original WHITE 1531 with warranty still on it - there are a few of those. And the Joystick isn't even so bad as you might think. I played a bit of JACK ATTACK with it last week (surely on my C232)

I have a 1531. I didnt want to put it on the setup. White are rare.
Your V364 ist very insteresting.. i am sure, some people here, me included, would like to be part of it..This coputer should me remade in one or other way...what do you think...?

| Re: commodore 232 in Holland
I asked a guy to duplicate the board he declined so I only could use a Plus4 as a Basis. I did that and it Looks very cool just the part of the F keys Need to be printed but again, I did not print them yet. I have some idea and files done but no final mod or product. Also would Need a PCB board for the number block and wire all the wires from the number keys on the Keyboard to the number block on the right side. That is not an easy Task, many wires are needed to achieve that. Even the Power LED is in other Position, I also re created this. So top case is almost ready (just not printed out) and the bottom is a bit difficult as it is longer and 5mm higher than a Plus4 but I cannot re create this easy. So it would be a bit less in height when you use Plus4 cases and not make a complete new case (not hard but very expansive I think). I am not sure how I can add pics to that but I can upload it here:
http://scacom.bplaced.net/Collection/bilder/projekte/v364
It's not the final product you see there. Just some tests how to expand Plus4 case to V364.

just to mention: if you will have a serious v364 project, and you need people are interested to support (or buy the final version): I am in
According to my personal opinion the Magic Voice is not a big deal (I think SAM was very close to that, and it was just a software! could be provided as a ROM socket), but the numeric keyboard and extra width made our nice little black computer look more professional. (v364 looks like a Sinclair QL class upper level computer, though I had to admit the QL industrial design is shocking nice one, unfortunately microdrives killed it)

Well you Need serious skills and time to make a V364. It's not just a product out of the box, they Keyboard etc is made out of old PC Keyboard parts for example.
What could help is a keypad layout (someone can do that?) so we could connect the number Keyboard and get it working.
There are 2 ways, either use Plus4 cases / you Need 2) and do lot of cutting, glueing, sanding, painting etc. or you coult make a better file that is more accurate and print out a whole Computer but that is very expansive.
For now I did not go ahead with it because of the 3d printing cost. I want to have it accurate as possible and have all the v364 original measurements to do that.

| Re: commodore 232 in Holland
The right and only logical way to do it, would be to 3D-print the case.
I could imagine an V386-Upgrade-set for a plus/4 with 3D-Modell (for printing the case and buttons on own cost at a printing store) and some boards, screws, labels or maybe a step-by-step PDF, with description for doing it at home.
There won't be many enthusiast, who will order a complete build V386. I personally would like to have an upgraded Plus/4 this way done by myself.
In some years 3D-printing won't be as expensive as now.

Can we perhaps move the V364 related discussion to a different topic please? Stefan: sorry for labeling you inappropriately. I have updated the 232 list accordingly. Nice collection! Can you tell us how you got hold of this 232? Everyone has his own story, would be curious to hear yours

Not much story - I had a page saying I search the C232 on my Homepage. Someone in Germany died and the sons of him contacted me over my Homepage and asked me to make an offer. I made a small offer and he said it is OK so he sent it - along with VC20 and stuff - to me.
He said his father always collected commodores a bit on flea market but they did not exactly know where he got the C232 from. With it there was a C128 PSU modded to use with C232 (other cable, some strange external plugs maybe for peripherals). So I guess he used it a lot, despite it looks like new. Strange is most of the VIC20 are NTSC (Germany normally is PAL).
So all in all: a bit of luck and also Show the Passion for what you love to do. It (sometimes) pays off.

If it is not too invading, it could be interesting to know the (nick)name of the original owner. If it was so enthusiast to the Plus/4, maybe it belonged to the scene in the golden era and we could remember him. So Stefan you could ask the son for this, thank you.
