Wow, finally grabbed a chance to play it. Reminds me much of Battlezone. Superb conversion, Very quick and easy to play. Great job Ulysess77

RoePipi: There was indeed an Amiga version of Encounter, called Amiga Encounter. As I recall, it came out after the (perhaps) better looking Backlash, a game in the same style.

Wow. Thank you Ulysses777.
I was always in awe of Paul Woaks work. Back then I had so many questions. How did he do it? How is it so damned fast? How are those solid circles drawn so fast? Is it some sprite hack (it was a C64 where I first saw it)? Is it bitmapped? Is it character based? So many questions..... and a lot of time in full reverse hitting the fire button like mad! Brilliant memories.

What a fantastic midsummer present you've kicked in the wild Ulysses777, congrats! Now I absolutely wanna see a comparative video against the official C64 and Atari versions to see which is the faster one, bets opened! Side note: two different versions of Encounter PAL/NTSC were originally released, the Plus/4 conversion include both system clocks!
