| Description | S.A.M. implements these new BASIC commands:
SAY (string variable or string): Commands SAM to speak. ]PITCH n (default 64) Sets SAM's pitch value to n. ]SPEED n (default 72) Sets SAM's speed value to n. ]LIGHT n (default 0) Removes the screen display if n=0, leaves the screen display if n = 1. SAM sounds best with the display removed. ]SAM (default mode) Puts SAM into the phonetic input mode. ]RECITER Puts SAM into the English input mode. ]KNOBS n,m (default 128,128) Allows you to change SAM's voice. Set the "mouth" value with n and the "throat" value with m. ]ERROR SAM beeps twice when an incorrect phoneme spelling is detected. To find out where the error occurred, use this command. ]LOGO Should displays a message, but does not appear to work in the +4 version. ]QUIT Removes the SAM wedge (SAM commands will stop working).
