| Description | In this game, players take on the role of pod racers from the Star Wars universe, aiming to reach checkpoints as quickly as possible. The game is unique in that it does not limit players to a specific route; you can approach each checkpoint from any direction. The key to navigating effectively lies in paying attention to the color-coded lamps located at the upper left corner of each checkpoint, which indicate your next target: blue for the first player, purple for the second, and green for the third.
The game has 15 levels, with each level requiring the completion of 5 laps. Points are awarded based on your finishing position in each race: 1000 points for first place, 500 for second, and 250 for third. Accumulating enough points unlocks the next level. After some levels, just winning the races won't be enough. You have to complete the various bonus tasks, which change from level to level. So, don't forget to check it before you start the race.
Controls
To navigate through screens, press SPACE to proceed and HOME to access settings. In the results and level selection screens, the JOY fire button can also be used to continue. The settings menu allows for customization with the following controls
Arrow keys (left and right) | Select player | F1 | Display help | 1 | Toggle pod shape | 2 | Toggle pod color | 3 | Rename the player | 4 | Toggle player type (None, Human, AI, Super AI) | 5 | Toggle controls (arrows, AWD, JIL, Joy1, Joy2) |
Note: Pods can turn left, right, and accelerate (with acceleration tied to the fire button in Joy mode). You don't have a break, but your pod slows down if you don't press acceleration.
A multiplayer mode is available by setting more than one player to human. In this case you can select the level by entering the level code in the level selection screen. You can acquire level codes by unlocking the levels in single player mode, reading out from the memory or simply asking from another player. |
