| Description | This is a simple utility that allows beats to be programmed. The samples are taken from Billy Idol's "Flesh for Fantasy".
Controls:
Key | Function | Cursor up/down | Menu selection | Return | Select menu item | +/- | Adjust speed (when speed menu item is highlighted) | Run/Stop | Return to menu |
Menu items:
run | Play (run) the currently entered beat. (When no data is entered, it does nothing, but still has to be stopped with Run/Stop.) | PRG write | Enter the editor mode. You can move with the cursor and type freely. | speed | Press +/- to adjust speed from 1-12. Lower numbers mean faster and higher pitched playback. | load/save | Self explanatory. Saves to tape only, and the "PRESS PLAY..." messages are printed in black (invisible). | direct | Enter direct ("keyjazz") mode. |
In the editor, the following characters can be used:
1-8 | Play samples. | +/- | Adjust speed. | £ | Specify loop start and end; you need two for the music to loop. | . | Stop |

| Additional Notes | This program is referenced in My Own Graphic Box II, which was also coded by Batya. It has been "lost" for over 30 years until finally retrieved from a disk archive, thanks to Lacus.
Batya's name and the release year appears in the basic listing: 1988 SYS4128 THE CRACKER:BATYA!
The word "cracker" is misused here, but Batya is known to use it this way, see also Cracker's Mix.
Otherwise the program has no text anywhere in memory pointing to it's origin. The saved data is named "DOB PRG" (drum program), pointing to the author's Hungarian origin. |
