| | Description | Behind Closed Doors is a one-room interactive fiction adventure made by Zenobi Software in 1988. The game is extremely short and can be completed in only 11 moves, but the detailed descriptions make the game fun to play through.
You play as the Balrog, who has been trapped in a wooden hut by two young Boggits. The aim is to make use of the objects in the single room to try and escape.

(You are sitting on the toilet seats in the wooden hut. Somebody had locked the door from the outside!)
STAND
PULL UP PANTS
EXAMINE NEWSPAPER (You see a crossword.)
EXAMINE CROSSWORD (There were only two clues left unsolved, 15 across and 2 down.)
EXAMINE 15 (Begins with B and ends with G, 6 letters long.)
BALROG (Clever sod!)
EXAMINE 2 (Begins with R and ends with E, 8 letters long.)
ROCHDALE (Clever sod!)
UNFOLD NEWSPAPER
READ NEWSPAPER (To see the news.)
SLIDE NEWSPAPER UNDER DOOR
EXAMINE RIGHT WALL (You see a nail.)
GET NAIL
STRAIGHTEN NAIL
INSERT NAIL INTO KEYHOLE (It pushed the key out of the lock, and the key drops onto the newspaper on the other side of the door.)
PULL NEWSPAPER (A small bronze key is lying in the centre of the newspaper.)
GET KEY
UNLOCK DOOR (Eagerly you inserted the key into the lock and quickly opened the door.)
As soon as the door flew open, you stepped out into the cool morning air and with a cry of "I'll get you, you little sods!" you waved a fist in the direction of Fuddo and Slam.
You are free.
The game is solved successfully.
