MAT64's Speaking
THE RETURN OF THE HERO
A foreword by Terus Jablaar

Wide shot, Conan and his comrade in arms are running free to the hills on the notes of the majestic soundtrack of Basil Poledouris.

How many times did you gasp watching this scene? And what about when Conan wields his sword exterminating enemies?

In the same way we have cut off heads, then kicked by funny little green creatures; we killed hordes of zombies, with torches of ridiculous range inside cemeteries.

Metal pastimes of the world we have been playing for a long time thanks to video games. 'AVVENTURA 1' is one of them, it's time to play it.

The hero is back!

A love letter to 'AVVENTURA 1'

In 1983 Alessandro Castellari wrote a fantasy text-based videogame, as a boy I fell in love with it, every now and then I play it.

I still think it's one of the best Italian games ever made on C64 and that's why I decided to make an English adaptation being very careful to keep the spirit of the original game.

I also decided to pay homage to it by revamping some of my fantasy tunes for my favorite R3, a SID 6581 made in 1983.

Because we are in 1983.
