Subject: Serial Slave for the Plus/4

 | | First, regarding that thread about terminal programs, does anyone have some handy download urls? I can't find any at all on the ftps. Solder ships something with his RS-232 adapter; is this available for download or do you have to buy the adapter?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm porting my Serial Slave software to the Plus/4. It's an RS-232 based transfer suite that allows you to copy files to/from a PC or unix box. It should also support d64 trans-
fer in the not too distant future. Details are available on

 http://www.cling.gu.se/~cl3polof/serslave/

However, as I don't have a Plus/4 Programmers Reference Guide[0] and I have no experience whatsoever programming the Plus/4, I need some advice:

What's a good place to keep a small utility routine, such as a
floppy speeder? It's less than 512 bytes, and on the C64 I've put it
 at $ce00 and on the C128 it's at $1500.

Is it possible to print various shades of grey by just calling
$ffd2? For various reasons I'd rather not sta directly to the
attribute map. I need some sort of colour scheme that doesn't bleed
horribly, and the standard 16 colours aren't too easy on the eyes
(with the exception of black and white :).

Is there anything special about the 6551 in the Plus/4? For some
reason it hangs in my receive function, but the same code works on
SwiftLink and Turbo232. The send function works just fine, and it's
set up for 19200 in both ends. I could be that my RS-232 adapter is
dying on me, but I thought I'd make sure.

[0] is it available on the net somewhere? If not, would anyone here
be willing to provide me with a copy? The docs on plus4.org are a
good start, but having a PRG would help a lot.
