I would say if your going to use an emulator, you shouldn't use a +4
assembler anyway! You should use a cross assembler. TASM is brill, and will compile about 10 times the about at least 10 times quicker! And you can also use minus/4's source level debugging if you do this.

You can also use your fav PC text file editor, like Brief, notepad,
edit, codewrite, crips or whatever....

When I wrote C64 games we ALWAYS used cross-assemblers. They are fast,
sexy and your choice of editors... I can probably knock up a framework if someone actually wants one.
