Sziastok!
Hey dudes and dudettes (doesn´t really apply for this mailing list, huh?),
I passed my US History exam (barely)... Still, the assistant babe stopped smiling at me :( Damn...
OK, now back to some plus/4 related things...
Levente, I noticed that you did some different WAVE converters. If I remember it correctly, there's a real FAST one and another one, that gives better results. Now, which "parts" of the SID are emulated in each version. (Btw, do you remember the latest version numbers?) Of course, I could check that, but I´m really lazy and I don´t have a plus/4 hooked up right now. (Keep the FREQUENCY clear! WAVEFORM, ADSR, what about the Filters?)
A couple of months ago, I saw/heard a TED music player, done by some dude from the (at that time still) CSSR. It was called MIKRO MUZIK and there were a couple of demo songs commin´ along with it. Anybody who knows that routy? (Demo tunes included "Eleanor Rigby" and some classical ones.)
This routine had a nice VIBRATO... I haven´t seen really cool TED Sound routies, though. Mostly they just put frequency values to the TED. Some do PSEUDO ADSR by using some sorta short $ff11 tables but that's about it. I think TED could do more. I guess, there haven´t been to many musicians on plus/4, well, I don´t blame´em... That's probably why SID converting became a common habit!
Talking about TED musics... Does anybody know Ernö Zalka (VANGUARD)? He did some nice TED musics. He was probably the only real TED musician.
Though, some games had cool TED tunes aswell, e.g. TERRA NOVA and LAZA!
(And they almost need no Rastertime!) I also liked those SOUND BOXES like
"STEALED SOUNDS" by TPPC and SOUNDBOX III by MAT. Actually, those were about the first plus/4 demos I´ve ever seen.
Anyway, is there any cool TED music player (and editor?) around? (Not the SOUNDMASTER or whatever that KINGSOFT program was called. That one sucks big time!)
I found a website about old computers which states that there has been a proto type of the 364 which featured an extra numeric block (That makes sense ´cause on the revison notice in my manual it says 2 extra keyboard lines have been removed) and a Speech synthesizer... That was probably a lousy one! "Hello, I´m SAAAM. I am software speech for the commodore..."
:) Without reading/knowing the text, you couldn´t understand a word! Even if it wasn´t the Hungarian SAM version :)
Hey Crown, just saw your mails commin´ in...
Yeah, I like artsy type movies, too. Actually 3SAT and ARTE offer some nice things...
This place is closing, so I gotta finish this one.
Köszönöm for paying attention,
Chicken-ak
