Hi,
If it's GPL-d, any emulator author could - in theory - add any code from VICE to their emulator. As far as I know however, it's only my emulator - Yape - that is actually GPL-d at the moment among plus/4 emulators. So the actual code could be added by anyone anywhere....
I think however that it's not at all too easy. I guess all the emulators' architecture is so much different from that of VICE (which is overly complicated due to its high level of emulation), that a complete rewrite would be necessary.
Even just thinking of adding true drive emulation would require me - for one - to rearrange the whole source, which is just a bit too much of work at the moment.
Maybe a better idea would be just "step-by-step cloning"
the Commodore 64 emulation in VICE into a plus/4 one.
