Another thing: if you're using HTTP to download, and the server has not been properly configured, it'll identify all .prg files as text/plain,
which will make the Windows version of Netscape to corrupt the files. As far as I know, Internet Explorer doesn't pay attention to the Content-Type field reported by the server, but it has its own data base of file extensions. Anyway, I have never had problems with the Unix version of Netscape or with any other Unix web utilities.
