Hi, can anyone help identify what is wrong here? Why is the text repeating and what do the "e e e e e e "'s mean?

Just want to add that on startup the e's appear in the middle of the screen and when you do type something it comes out in several places on the screen simultaneously!

I had one machine that exhibited symptoms like yours, in that case it was a faulty CPU. But it could also be caused by a faulty TED chip, or bad ROMs.
The CPU and TED can only be sourced from another C16 or Plus/4.

ok, thanks I was wondering if the e was some kind of error message. I opened it up and pressed down on the roms and it started up the same except that there was a white on red 7 after the e I wondered if that was trying to tell me some kind of error 7!
