| Black Screen
Hello,
I tried to power up my Plus/4 today and all I got was just a black screen. This has happened before but upon switching the unit on and off about 5 times it came back on to the blue and white home screen.Today however I had no such luck, So I opened it up and then with the cover off powered it up and it worked!!
What's likely to cause this? There is quite a bit of dust of the circuitboard which I must get blown off with the airline at work at somepoint.

Usually it's caused by a bad TED or CPU. But as it happens intermittently on yours, maybe you should check that both chips are properly seated in their sockets.
Of course, giving the board a clean is a good idea too.

It's overheating. Now that the weather is nicer, heat problems will show more easily than they do when the snow is up to your you-know-what.
Be sure that TED's protective white goop is still intact between it and it's cage cover; replace with fresh heat transfer grease if needed. You might also want to heat-sink the CPU while you're at it.
