If you like the old SID sound and rock, check out the Swedish band Machinae Supremacy. (Unofficial FAQ, Wikipedia entry). These guys use a SidStation (featuring or based on an actual SID). They absolutely rock! My favourites are "The Great Gianna Sisters" and "Sidology Episode 1 - SID Evolution". They have lots of songs avaiable for free download on their site, including the Jets'n'Guns Soundtrack (found under Discography), which is amazing too. Go take a look/listen, I recommend them wholeheartedly.
