Connection between 1551 drive and PC is not possible (yet).
On the contrary many of us are used to transfer disk' contents from 1541 drive to PC thru a X1541-type cable and one of many softwares that allowing these operations (Starcommander for example) running from PC side. Here the software does create images of disks (name.D64) that emulators can easy manage.
If you don't have a 1541 (or compatible) drive, you could connect the PC with the X1541 drive only to save files to PC (I mean: load to Plus4 from 1551, then save to cbale -> PC).
Pls tell me what HW configuration you have, and I'll tell you what you exaclty need.
